Elgen Nutag Radio FM 96,9 (Элгэн нутаг радио ФМ 96,9) was launched in 2003 with a staff of 8 people. The radio has for the first time ever live transmitted the celebration ceremony of Naadam festivities and the Japanese professional Sumo wrestling. It broadcasts 168 hours per week. The Director is Mr. D. Batbayar. The radio’s vision is “To reach the world” with its programs. It has branches in several provinces including Zavkhan, Uvs, Umnugobi and Bulgan areas. In 2011 the radio developed an own mobile radio application and it distinguishes itself from other radios through its round-the-clock programs. Mongolians living in Russia, Germany, Malaysia and Taiwan can listen to Elgen Nutag radio. D. Batbayar, the director of the radio, is an actor by profession and launched his radio by producing and broadcasting “radio books” using the Mongolian classical literature. The radio does not have any political or business affiliations.
