Mongoliin Unen is a daily newspaper with a circulation of 4000 copies per issue in 2015. (http://www.pressinst.org.mn/ ) The newspaper is owned by the Mongolian People’s Party (MPP). Consequently, the current Cabinet Secretary (Хэрэг эрхлэх газрын дарга) and General Secretary of the governing MPP, J. Munkhbat, was Editor-in-Chief of “Mongolyn Unen” in 2011-2013 (http://blogs.ubc.ca/mongolia/2016/mpp-majority-cabinet/) As the first Mongolian periodical newspaper, Mongoliin Unen was launched in 1920 with support of the Soviet Union. In 1925 the newspaper officially became the mouthpiece of Mongolian People’s Revolutionary Party’s, directly managed by the Central Committee of the then MPRP (now MPP). (L. As a party publication the newspaper promotes the MPP’s policy along with providing current affairs news on political, economic, social and other issues. Editor-in-chief of the newspaper is B. Ganbold, who is also the owner and Chairman of the Board of the daily newspaper Undesnii Shuudan. The newspaper has the motto “Truth you can only find in our newspaper”. It is published 5 times a week with 8-12 pages in a broadsheet format and also has an online subscription. The newspaper has its own printing house. The website is www.unen.mn.
